In That Hideous Strength, C.S. Lewis wrote, "Human strengths have a dark side. Our strengths under duress become our weaknesses. Our strengths contain seeds of our destruction." What does Gallup make of this?

We disagree with this idea. Strengths do not have a "dark side." Nor do strengths "under duress become our weaknesses." A strength is simply the ability to provide consistent, near-perfect performance in a given activity. The "seeds of our destruction" would be found not in our strengths, but in why and how we use them.
