Eric Nielsen

Senior Director, Media Strategies

Eric Nielsen is Senior Director, Media Strategies for The Gallup Organization. In his role, Nielsen leads media relations for The Gallup Organization. He coordinates all media inquiries and leads the strategy for media outreach for the release of data from the Gallup World Poll and The Gallup Poll. He also directs the media strategy for disseminating data and promotes subject matter experts for the Gallup Management Journal and Gallup Consulting.

Nielsen has been with The Gallup Organization since 1994. Prior to assuming his media relations role, he managed the start-up of Gallup's premier subscription service, Gallup Poll On Demand, and institutional licensing for the Gallup Brain, an online archive of Gallup's polling data. He created the marketing and messaging used to generate subscriber interest and purchase. He also developed partnerships with media outlets and Web sites, encouraging them to publish Gallup data and analyses.

Earlier in his Gallup career, Nielsen worked with Gallup's chief marketing officer to orchestrate Gallup's learning events. These programs featured Gallup Consulting experts who presented key management insights to clients and prospects nationwide in a series of intimate summits.

Prior to joining Gallup, Nielsen was in charge of Southern California regional sales for a material handling engineering firm in Anaheim, California. As the director of sales and engineering, he was responsible for the marketing and sales of systems design and construction management of large-scale manufacturing facilities.

Nielsen received his bachelor's degree from California State University-Fullerton in Mechanical Engineering.
