The economy may get worse before it gets better: Most economists say the U.S. GDP will turn around by mid-2009, but the unemployment rate will continue to climb through 2010. Here’s how executives can keep employees engaged in this rough economic climate.

Business Leaders and Corporations engaging in additional advertisements on Cost efficiency or regular press releases with success stories during the economic crisis have found a positive impact in their stock prices. Instead of being on news for work force reduction, companies need to manage innovatively and bring out the best possible success stories to the newsroom. This helps in engaging market speculators on particular stocks. With most companies having a presence on the websphere, thier bulletin boards can bring out a monthly average of 5 achievements over one Plant shutdown or work force optimisations, unless they want to exit business or file for Ch.7.

As an extension, ailing sectors under similar business segment can work together and bring about a turn around in the industry. In the recent days, diamond industry in India has been one of the worst affected due to economic crisis. With exports dwindling to minimal levels, the industry and its skilled labourers require motivation not only from their own managers but an overall response from the consumers. The business segments co-ordinated response by deciding to organise wedding carnivals and flat out 25% reductions are sincere efforts by expert groups to revive the segment.

Dignity and respect are essential in communicating within and outside of a company. Employees need to feel important. When they do feel important and heard, their full capabilities and potenial are cultivated. Leaders who are excel at managing people and results are continually developing, swimming with the current as it changes. All food for coaching.
