Job Seekers Ask: Who’s the Boss?

When seeking employment, they’re much more attracted to the quality of a company’s management than to potential perks

by Bryant Ott, Nikki Blacksmith, and Ken Royal
The competition for quality employees among leading companies is fierce, regardless of industry or sector. Job seekers aren’t looking strictly at salary offers; nor are they putting much stock into added perks such as company fitness center programs or on-site daycare services. According to new Gallup research, what they want most -- along with competitive pay, of course -- is quality management.

This is great, but I'm assuming it's for the U.S. Do you have anything for Australia?

Correct, this is just for the United States. This is the first time Gallup has done research like this, and wanted to start in the U.S. before asking in other countries. This is something we do plan to do, though as of now there is no timetable. I think Australia would be a great place to conduct this type of research with its tight labour market.
