David C. Wilson, a Senior Consultant for The Gallup
Organization, is based in Gallup’s Washington, D.C., office.
He consults with public and private sector clients to identify
objective productivity and business impact measurements, present
performance impact findings, and make recommendations. Wilson
produced one of Gallup’s first-ever public sector linkage
studies.
Since joining Gallup in 1999, Wilson has also assisted in the
development of marketing proposals, conducted survey methodological
research, written white papers, designed surveys, conducted
statistical/software training for both internal and external
clients, and presented analytic findings and data analysis
processes in public forums. Wilson also worked as a Gallup Senior
Statistical Analyst for three years, specializing in employee
engagement. As a Statistical Analyst, he trained Gallup’s
Data Analysts in statistical analysis procedures and standards, was
a top-revenue producing Statistical Analyst, and was recognized as
Gallup’s Statistical Analysis Teacher of the Year for 1999
and 2000.
Prior to joining Gallup, Wilson was a senior research associate
for Pacific Institute for Research and Evaluation, where he
assisted the principal investigator and senior science staff in
day-to-day project coordination of several research projects that
primarily involved data collection, management, analysis, and
synthesis. He also worked as a trainer/software consultant for
Statistical Product and Service Solutions Inc. (SPSS), a course
instructor for the Michigan State University (MSU) Department of
Political Science and Urban Affairs Programs, and a program leader
for the MSU Community and Economic Development Program.
Wilson has written and presented papers on survey methodology to
the Gallup International Research and Education Council (GIREC) and
the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR);
coauthored results of survey methodological research in Public
Opinion Quarterly; and lead, planned, and coordinated education
workshops and seminars on survey research and analysis. Wilson
earned his bachelor’s degree in government from Western
Kentucky University and master’s degrees in urban
studies/public policy and administration and political science
— public opinion/political behavior/political
psychology/research methods from Michigan State University. He is
currently pursuing his doctorate degree in political science.
Wilson has served in the United States Army Reserve as a personnel
management specialist since 1987.
Wilson is a member of the Urban Affairs Association, the Midwest
Political Science Association (MPSA), the American Political
Science Association (APSA), and American Association for Public
Opinion Research (AAPOR).
