Kurt Deneen

Kurt Deneen joined Gallup in 2004 as Global Practice Leader, Retail. Deneen draws on his diverse retailing experience to provide Gallup clients with business solutions based on Gallup’s research and empirical data.

In his role as Global Practice Leader, Retail, Deneen is responsible for leading research and development efforts and for product innovation, marketing, and client relationship management. His consulting insights help retail organizations improve their financial performance by enhancing customer and employee engagement, talent-based selection, strengths-based employee development, and comprehensive organizational development.

Prior to joining Gallup, Deneen spent 16 years working for several major retailers. He successfully ran three high profile markets for one of the world’s leading specialty retailers, earning multiple awards for sales growth, people development, and operational efficiencies. He also led a corporate strategy initiative to identify and develop business growth strategies for an entire field organization; the results affected every aspect of a world-class retailer, from hiring and development to operations and merchandising. As director of field merchandising for an iconic specialty retailer, Deneen led a team that successfully repositioned the field organization to best represent the retailer’s core branding messages.

Deneen received his bachelor’s degree in advertising from The Ohio State University.
